"Stupid Deaths" Says Cooper

by wiseprince

Sat, Jan 16, 2010 at 09:16:29 AM EST

Anderson Cooper got a little emotional on Larry King live the other day and the video is seen below. Two points about this video. First, it's interesting that after all these years Larry King still finds about way to ask the probing questions. When Cooper calls some of the deaths in Hati, "Stupid Deaths" King probes, "Stupid Because..." (Yes, this is journalism as it has come to be practiced by the MSM). Cooper does a fair job here but one wonders if he would be so understanding, "The government is doing the best they can", if George Bush was the one who allowed for these "Stupid deaths". As you know during the Katrina debacle the reaction was far from one of understanding that the power of these natural disasters are not something easily overcome by man.

Freedom Dying With A Whimper

by wiseprince

Mon, Jan 11, 2010 at 08:15:32 AM EST

It's incredible, and quite sad, to me to see how easily freedom is taken away in North America. A botched terrorist attack but an Al-Qaida goon and now the government wants all clothes off before boarding a plane. TO be sure, it doesn't surprise me one bit that the government would propose this crazy solution but what is a little disturbing is the ease of which this has been allowed to happen. Where are all of the freedom and privacy critics now that it's not Bush proposing these wild eyed ideas. The patriot act could have, in theory, trampled on the rights of citizens and there were many on the left and the right of the political spectrum that were rightly watchful of the law. The new airport security however, is not a theoretical encroachment or rights it is an absolute abdication of them.

Great Job On Climate Change Harper

by wiseprince

Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 10:57:04 AM EST

When Stephen Harper represented Canada in Copenhagen I felt a feeling that bordered on pride for how he represented Canada. Now, I understand that may seem to be contrary to logic and what Canadians in general are thinking (based on the MSM but I have a feeling that reality mimics a little more closely my feeling on the issue) but nevertheless I am somewhat proud of how he acted in Copenhagen. Not only did he not commit Canada to any socialist deal but he refused to even give those "leaders" the time of day. The Canadian position seemed to be, during this show (event), climate change is real but we are not going to sell out our company to fix it.

PLEASE Don't Read the Bill

by wiseprince

Wed, Dec 16, 2009 at 10:37:26 PM EST

In what has to go down as the most telling piece of buffoonery in 2009 Senator Sanders of Vermont (I) put forward a 787 page amendment to the health care bill currently being debated in the senate. As a tactic to slow down the process the Republicans decided to call for the bill to be read in its entirety on the senate floor (The fact that reading the bill in its entirety is now considered a delaying tactic might be an indication that these ridiculous laws and legislation are already getting way out of hand but that's a topic for another discussion). Senator Sanders, in this clip, request that the bill not be read and when Senator Coburn (R) objects Senator Sanders, against all rules, simply withdraws his amendment (I suppose it wasn't so important after all). See the extended entry for the clip

Terrorists' Go to New York

by wiseprince

Tue, Nov 17, 2009 at 08:35:23 AM EST

President Obama and his clan of well informed Liberals have decided that 9/11 attack "masterminds" should go on trial in New York City. Certainly I am not a policy maker but it seems odd to me that one would put prisoners of war on trial in a civilian court (especially when you know that the prisoners were not given any of the other rights guaranteed to them). My take on this is that show trials have finally arrived in America. Are we to believe that it is possible for Khalid Shak Muhammed to be acquitted of all crimes and let go in the middle of Manhattan?

Xbox Live Ban Serum

by wiseprince

Thu, Nov 12, 2009 at 08:23:08 AM EST

Microsoft has been on a banning spree over the last month or so removing all the xbox live members who play backup copies of their games. How right or wrong this is is a discussion for a different platform but from a technical perspective there are many looking into how this happened and ways to get around it. Firmware updates are currently being worked on as are offline validation checks. I have posted below another angle to tackle the problem.

Voices in the Wilderness Update 1

by wiseprince

Tue, Sep 29, 2009 at 09:59:06 PM EDT

I have, as promised, been updating the site in an effort to do a major overhaul (piece by piece though). You will notice the new "Latest News" section on the left side of the screen. This section will constantly be updated (automatically) with the latest headlines from the feeds that Voices in the Wilderness is monitoring. This constitutes the first update but there are more to come (hopefully they all come as quickly as the first update).

If you have any feedback please share as we are always looking to improve

New Site Coming..

by wiseprince

Thu, Sep 17, 2009 at 08:17:46 AM EDT

I haven't been updating this site too often during the summer months but that will soon change. The site will differ soon as it will be partly an RSS reader monitoring the latest in the world of politics, economics, sports and other things (I will be commented on the issues of the day rather than the current format).
If anything wild and/or excited pops up but until that happens I will more than likely stay quite until the new format is in place. As the sole designer this may take awhile but be patient it's coming.

The ultimate idea is to have this site morph into a gathering place to discuss the latest top stories. Rather than to discuss them based on my analysis as a starting point we will discuss things as they appear in the MSM (of course I reserve the right to continue posting my own articles and/or analysis but as you can see that is very time consuming and time doesn't always permit)

Protest the Ideology not the vote

by wiseprince

Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 08:20:18 AM EDT

Iranians are protesting and I suppose that is something lovers of freedom can take pride in but these protests leave me somewhat baffled. The Iranians are contesting the elections under the Ayatollah controlled regime but they are not contesting the regime itself which begs the question: what policies are Mousavi planning to enact that are so drastically different than Ahmadinejad? The answer is his policies cannot and would not stray too far from what the current President is doing because Mousavi, as the rest of the candidates, were prescreened by the "power that be" in Iran.
