It's incredible, and quite sad, to me to see how easily freedom is taken away in North America. A botched terrorist attack but an Al-Qaida goon and now the government wants all clothes off before boarding a plane. TO be sure, it doesn't surprise me one bit that the government would propose this crazy solution but what is a little disturbing is the ease of which this has been allowed to happen. Where are all of the freedom and privacy critics now that it's not Bush proposing these wild eyed ideas. The patriot act could have, in theory, trampled on the rights of citizens and there were many on the left and the right of the political spectrum that were rightly watchful of the law. The new airport security however, is not a theoretical encroachment or rights it is an absolute abdication of them.
No one seems the least bit concerned that the technology used to "blur" out the nudity is easily reversible by photoshop tricks. No one seems to care that those who control this screening process do not themselves have to pass any security clearance. No one seems to care that those under 18 are exempt from this, making this process a facade of security rather than security itself. It happened and people fly as though they have to accept this criminal behavior from western governments. By the time we who believe in freedom are ready to take a stand it will be too late and the government will be far to powerful to overcome (see Iran). The governments must hear the cries of the people. Rightoues men and women cannot stay silent of the stripping of our freedoms will come fast and furious. How should we fight back, it's debatable but that would should cannot be questioned
